Rosemary – The Oil of Remembrance

Rosemary is a hardy evergreen shrub with beautiful blue to purple flowers. Her name derives from the Latin for ‘dew’ (ros) and ‘sea’ (marinus), or ‘dew of the sea’, as it is often found naturally growing near the coastlines of the Mediterranean. The plant has been used in a myriad of ways over the last 2,500 years and the essential oil, steam-distilled from the flowers and leaves, is invaluable for her therapeutic effects, particularly for many diseases that result from our modern way of living. The oil has a stern energy, enhancing memory and remembering what is important amidst the ups and downs of life.
