{{ Bri’s Sore Muscle Salve Recipe }}

Homemade Sore Muscle and Joint Balm

Ingredients:
– 1/4 cup extra virgin coconut oil
– 1 Tbsp. beeswax pellets (also called beeswax pastilles)
– 25-30 drops total of any combination of: Eucalyptus, Wintergreen, Rosemary, Lavender, Lemongrass, Clove, Peppermint, or Ginger pure therapeutic-grade essential oils

Suggested combinations:

– Peppermint, Lavender (soothing and relaxing)
– Peppermint, Ginger (warming and soothing)
– Eucalyptus, Lemongrass (opening, clearing, and invigorating)
– Eucalyptus, Rosemary (herbal and relaxing)
– Ginger, Clove (warming)
– Peppermint, Wintergreen (cooling and soothing)
– Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Lavender (opening, calming, and soothing)
– Peppermint, Wintergreen, Clove (invigorating, soothing, and warming… icy hot!)

Instructions:
1. Heat coconut oil and beeswax over LOW heat until completely melted, stirring frequently. I recommended creating a double boiler using a glass or metal inner container that can be discarded, recycled, or re-used for the same project at a future date (for example, an old glass jar).
2. As soon as the wax and oil have melted, remove saucepan/double boiler from heat.
3. Stir periodically for 3-4 minutes. This will release excess heat without allowing the mixture to harden.
4. After 3-4 minutes of gentle stirring (to release excess heat), stir in essential oils.
5. Carefully pour mixture into a small glass storage container with lid.
6. Refrigerate to quickly solidify. Note that it will solidify to a balm consistency within 30-40 minutes at room temperature.
7. Store balm at room temperature. Massage a small amount into muscles and joints daily, or as needed, to help relieve aches and pains. Do not ingest; this is a body care recipe only.

Homemade Yoga Mat (and Gym Equipment) Cleaner

Ingredients:
– 3/4 cup water
– 1/4 cup white vinegar or alcohol free witch hazel
– 5 drops melaleuca EO
– 5 drops lavender EO

Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake well and spray your mat generously, covering the surface that you use for yoga/exercise. Wipe with a cloth. All clean!
