If you’d like to learn to use essential oils and plant-based self care more in your everyday life, I invite you to come to Aromahead’s online class, “Aromatherapy for Natural Living.” https://courses.aromahead.com/aromatherapy-for-natural-living
This is a sinus headache relief blend made with essential oils. It’s especially helpful for sinus pain that spans across the front of your face, and may be accompanied by congestion, allergies, or infection.
We’re making this blend in a base of Trauma Oil, which is actually an infusion of three herbs in another carrier (usually olive oil). The herbs are arnica, St. John’s wort, and calendula.
The herbs in Trauma Oil work in a beautiful healing synergy, and when we blend certain essential oils into it, the effects are even more therapeutic for pain and inflammation.
In a 1 oz (30 ml) glass bottle, blend:
1 oz (30 ml) Trauma Oil (0:47)
8 drops Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) (1:19)
6 drops Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) (1:43)
4 drops Frankincense (Boswellia carterii) (2:09)
Rubbing this blend into the back of your neck is a great way to get the benefits of the oils (and Eucalyptus can be a little too strong to use on your face around your eyes). The relief radiates through the muscles of your head.
At 3:06 you can see how I label my bottles. I always label my blends because I make so many of them!
