Roman Chamomile – The Oil of Gentleness

Humble Chamomile is a powerful healer, not just for humans, but also for other plants. Gardeners know it as ‘the plant’s physician’, finding its presence improves the health and well being of the whole garden. There are two plants, both sharing the same name, that offer us their precious essential oils. These are Roman Chamomile and German Chamomile. However the two plants have a completely different genus and species and thus, the chemical make up of the oils are very different. Although both have a calming effect on the mind and spirit, German tends to be more anti-inflammatory while Roman is gentler and helps sooth tension in the body. This video explores Roman Chamomile specifically.
