Jasmine infused body oil

The scent of jasmine is one of the great joys of early summer and in order to extend it into the later months of the year, I tried out this infused oil.

My mother told me that her grandmother (my great-grandmother) worked in service and the girls liked to make these oils since they couldn’t afford perfume on a maid’s salary.

It’s a very, very, very simplified version of enfleurage, which extracts perfum from flowers. The resulting oil smells amazing. It’s not the jasmine scent you might get in a perfume bottle bought at a store, but still a wonderful floral, sweet, earthy scent.
